MeggieSoft Games Cribbage is a comprehensive two-player implementation supporting the Five, Six, and Seven Card versions. Play against an online opponent or against your computer. Cribbage has a fertile user interface and many customizable graphic, levelheaded (including MIDI music and delivery output), prescript and scoring options. Six different computer opponent skill levels are available for when you are unable to experience online, or hardly want to practise privately.
Cribbage is played with a measure 52-card bedight. The game involves the discarding of two cards by each musician and then playing the cards with the object of scoring points for completing combinations (15, 31, pairs, sequences, and flushes), and for acheving other scoreable situations. When the cards have been played, the players remember their played cards and score boost points for combinations of the cards held. The dealer also scores for the Crib (the initially discarded cards). Successive rounds are dealt and played until one musician has reached the points goal of the game (61, 121, or 181 points, depending upon the deal size). Cribbage supports the Cuthroat Cribbage (Muggins) fluctuation, and additional prescript and scoring options.
The user interface, coarse to altogether MeggieSoft Games, supports both point-and-click and drag-and-drop mouse operations. Features include: realistic animated poster movement; right-click pop-up menus; a soupcon facility; a tutorial; automatic play; automatic save and restore of partly finished games; multiple-user scoreboards; a plum and uncluttered main window; status-bar shortcut buttons; and fully customizable main presentation font and wallpaper effects for the table and playing flatness, and the poster backs.
